- Description
-
This workshop is designed with the goal of providing participants with the knowledge necessary to perform ultrasound-guided nerve blocks. You will be able to discuss 1) the relative and absolute indications to regional anesthesia, 2) the relevant sonoanatomy for various peripheral nerve blocks, 3) the potential complications associated with reginal anesthesia, and 4) the tips for successful peripheral nerve block procedures. Participants will be assigned to “basic” or “intermediate” course based on level of their current knowledge and experiences for regional anesthetic techniques, and an appropriate training for each level will be provided. The entire course of the workshop will be hands-on and interactive. At the end of this workshop, participants would have acquired a thorough knowledge of imaging and scanning techniques for regional anesthesia.
- Learning Objectives
-
- Use proper equipment settings, transducers and ergonomics for specific blocks.
- Correctly identify relevant sonoanatomy of the upper limb, lower limb, and trunk.
- Describe different approaches to nerve blocks in the above-mentioned regions.
- Discuss nerve block indications and selection for specific surgical procedures.
